Pumpkin Patch

The weather has been so unusually warm for October and I've been dying to take the kids to the pumpkin patch.  We have been invited a couple of times to go along with friends, but Drew didn't want to miss it.  So, we waited...  and last weekend we finally got to go!

We went to Raders in Bloomington and absolutely loved it!  Kate and Ben were both so mad at us for leaving (even though we stayed almost 5 hours!).  It was a gorgeous afternoon and I took about a million pictures.

I was so proud of Ben.  He is usually reluctant to try new things, then he is disappointed he didn't try once it is time to leave.  Our first stop was a giant "pillow" to jump on.  Both kids were pumped up to jump...until it was their turn.  Ben didn't want to do it anymore.  It took some coaxing from Drew, but he tried it and, you guessed it...loved it!

Next we headed to the Hay Castle.  Kate loved it just because it was called a castle.  At first Ben wasn't going to climb (even though this kid climbs on everything!), but again Drew persuaded him to give it a try. 

After the climbing the castle Ben had worked his jitters out and we hit Rader Farm full force!  They both rode the caterpillar tractor a few times.  They did the slide, climbed on more hay, fed the goats, and got REALLY dirty.  Luke was the same awesome baby that he always is! 

Ben loves tractors.  In the past I've never been able to get him to actually sit on one.  Today was different!  He climbed right up there; he pushed all the buttons and messed with the gears. I think he could have done this all day.

Both Kate and Ben probably liked the Corny Bins the most.  They spent at least an hour wading through the corn. 

It was a great day!  Both Kate and Ben want to go back.  Hopefully this warm weather will keep up a little longer and we will be able to make one more trip to the pumpkin patch before winter gets here!
