Yesterday we met Grammy and Papa at The Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur, IL. This was an "artsy" pumpkin patch. It has been featured in County Living and Martha Stewart. These people have even done pumpkin displays for the White House. It is the place to go if you want some fall decoration inspiration, or to see more varieties of gourds and pumpkins than you ever knew existed. Driving through Amish Country to get the pumpkin patch was fun in itself. There were lots of horse and buggies on the road (or horse and "boogies") as Kate kept calling them.
We had a great afternoon with Grammy and Papa. We mostly just strolled around looking at the pumpkins on display and seeing the animals. We took a little tractor ride and ate some wonderful pumpkin ice cream. The kids had fun going through the hay maze, although Grammy and I never did find them. We had a wonderful time and here are a few pictures from our day.
Kate and Ben were convinced the turkey was playing a game with them. I think it was just trying to get away from them!
And, my baby pumpkin...
