We aren't ready to quite give in to fall yet! The weather has been exceptionally hot lately, and even though school is back in session, we've been doing quite a few evening swims. Everyone is getting quite brave going off the diving board. We've graduated from our usual, cannonballs, pencil jumps, and can openers to all out flips!! Ben and Kate are amazing! It all started with Ben doing an unexpected front flip off of the board. I think Drew and I were as shocked as he was that he actually did it. Well, Kate can't stand to be upstaged by her younger brother, so she immediately did a front flip off the board. So now, that's how we spend our evenings. Flip after flip after flip while the cicadas sing loudly in the trees around us. It's fine by me, hanging on to the last drops of summer.
And Little Luke, he cracks me up. He's a brave little 2 year old and goes off the board right behind the other two. Kate and Ben will call their "trick" before they go off the board. Luke does the same jump every single time. One with his legs kind of crossed behind him. But when his head pops out of the water, he holds his fingers up and proclaims whatever trick it was that he just did. "Cannonball!" or "Pencil!!". I love it!
