Last weekend, on April 17, Luke was baptized at our old church in Decatur by our old pastor Wray Offerman. It was fun to be back at St. Paul's! We were honored to have our friends Carrie and Tim Brown as Luke's Christian sponsors. They are living in New Jersey now so we unfortunately don't get to see them as often as we'd like. But while they were home for the weekend we squeezed in a baby shower for Carrie and Luke's baptism.
After the baptism we all gathered at Drew's Uncle Aldon and Aunt Sue's farm for lunch. It was a perfect spring afternoon and we had our first burgers on the grill of the season. Kate and Ben had a blast playing on the farm! Goats, chickens, horses, and even a llama! What more could you ask for?? Drew's cousin Allison spent a lot of time with Kate letting her ride the horse, even giving her a little riding lesson. On our way home I asked Kate what her favorite part of the day was, she said "when I rode the horse!". Then I asked her what her second favorite part was and she said, "when I rode the horse again!". She later added that playing in the hay mound was her next favorite thing.
Ben wasn't as enthusiastic about riding the horses as Kate was. He was quite satisfied riding the toy tractors around the garage. But everyone else wanted Ben to ride the horse!! So, like it or not (mostly not), Ben rode the horse...
It was a great day. It is always fun when we have both my family and Drew's family together. We are blessed to have such great families.
