Drew took his girls out for a surprise date night last Friday. We went to - you guessed it - the CIRCUS! We had such a great time!
After a quick dinner we headed to the Civic Center to take part in the pre-show fun. We got to go down on the floor and see the clowns up close doing magic tricks and teaching dance moves and even got to see Kelly the Elephant paint a picture.
The circus was everything it should be - elephants, clowns, tigers, freaky-way too limber-Chinese acrobats, trapeze artists.... Kate's eyes were big as saucers trying to take it all in. I'm not sure which was more fun for me, watching the circus or watching Kate watch the circus! She had the perfect reaction to everything. She gasped at all the right times.

She laughed when everyone else laughed. She clapped enthusiastically at the end of each act.
She followed all the instructions from the Ring Master - chanting "we want bubbles, we want bubbles" and singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" as loud as she could.
It was nonstop for over two hours. Toward the end I could tell Kate was getting tired. She was sucking her fingers and twirling her hair, but it never lost her attention. It was an awesome night!
I'm so impressed that Drew was able to plan this AND keep it a secret. Way to go!
