Happy Easter!

Saturday morning we took a trip to the mall so Kate could visit the Easter bunny and ride the choo-choo train. I thought she might be scared of the Easter bunny(I think he looks a little scary), but she walked right up to him and said "Hi, Bunny!" She sat on his lap for a long time, but we couldn't get a real smile out of her. There was just too much going on..the train, all the kids, the flowers...she just sat there and looked around.

Next up was the train ride. Kate is really in to trains and she had been talking about riding the train all morning. When it was finally her turn to ride, we thought she didn't like it. She didn't cry but she just sat there, serious as can be...no smiles, no waves, nothing. Then when the ride was over we found out how much she really liked it. She refused to leave the train. Lucky for Kate, her Great-Grandma Maurer had given her a dollar for Easter so she was able to take one more ride.

Since Shelbyville is a little too far for me to travel with Baby Goebel expected any time now (do you hear that Baby Goebel? Anytime is fine-the sooner the better!), Saturday afternoon Grammy & Papa and Uncle Greg & Maria brought a yummy Easter dinner to us. Kate had her first Easter egg hunt in the backyard.


Sunday morning we headed to Gridley for church and another Easter egg hunt and yummy Easter dinner. Katie looked so pretty in her Easter dress

(In closing - yes that is my daughter sporting a Dora backpack in several pictures. And yes, I'm the same mom who vowed to never let her children wear character clothing. But, if you saw how happy she was when she saw that Dora backpack and how she wears it with such pride and refuses to take it off and even wants to sleep with it, you'd understand. I'll allow the Dora backpack, but I draw the line there.)
