Soccer Girl

Kate participated in the the Pee-Wee soccer program this Spring.  It is amazing how much she has improved since the beginning of the season!!

Her team:

She started out the season staying as far away from the ball as she could, sucking her fingers, twirling her hair, doing somersaults, and picking dandelions (then having her coach deliver them to Mono on the sidelines).  She ended the season with several goals (or "doals", as she says), some valuable lessons on teamwork, and a lot more confidence.  She was the only one on the team who wore lip gloss and beaded necklaces to the games and refused to wear shin guards because they were uncomfortable.  Soccer is in fact all about fashion and comfort!  It was fun to watch her change a little more each game.  It was a short (and cold!) season but it makes me look forward to many more years of sitting in the stands cheering on my kiddos!

And she scores!!!

Ben was a little trouper.  He can find fun no matter where he goes!

Luke had a good time cheering on his big sister too.

I had to include this picture because it shows the face she made the entire time she played.  She is so intense!

The last game of the season was last week.  She ended on a high note with 2 goals and a medal.  She is SO proud of that medal!
