Because of the rain, our town rescheduled it's Fourth of July parade and fireworks for Sunday. Turned out, the weather was absolutely perfect on Sunday! Saturday was kind of a disappointment though; Kate was excited for the parade. Since we were all dressed and ready to go by 9:30 a.m. (a small miracle in this house) we decided we had to find something fun to do. Drew came up with Chuck E. Cheese!
The pizza was no where near as good as Drew and I remembered it being, but Skee Ball was just as fun! And Kate had a ball, too! Drew gave her a quick tour of the place and she was off.
She probably spent the first half hour just walking around the "maze". It was nice - Ben was sleeping, Kate was in the tunnels, and Drew and I had some time to just sit and talk (and drink our weight in sodas). It was relaxing until Kate got brave enough to try the slide on her own...then we spent the rest of the afternoon putting her back up in the "maze". She was just a little too short to be able to climb up there by herself.
Kate, we have to leave now...Two minutes later...
On Sunday we got to do everything we had hoped to do on Saturday, only with much better weather. Kate loved the parade, and got enough candy to last her the rest of the year. She couldn't wait to get home and sort through it all.
We ended the weekend with an awesome fireworks display. Mono and Papa joined us for a little picnic by the lake while we waited for it to get dark. It turned out to be a pretty fun weekend after all.
